Our 90-seat restaurant welcomes everyone from those looking for a quick breakfast/brunch to a long lazy lunch, to families and the cocktail drinking crowd. Co-owned by Sam Harrison, Rick Stein and Rebecca Mascarenhas, the menus at Harrison's feature classic British recipes with an international twist.
Downstairs at Harrison's is home to one of the best cocktail bars in Balham and offers a fantastic selection of cocktails, drinks and bar food.

Harrison's opened in October 2007 and is located on Bedford Hill in Balham, South London. An all-day every day, informal neighbourhood 90-seat brasserie with a Downstairs cocktail bar, Harrison's is spearheaded by co-owner Sam Harrison, who previously worked with Rick Stein in Padstow and in Sydney for two years.
Sam cites his experience with Rick as seminal to his independent venture, and, indeed, the feeling is mutual since Rick is an investor in both Harrison's and sister restaurant, Sam's Brasserie in Chiswick, acting in a 'godfatherly' way to help Sam through the complicated process of owning restaurants in London.

Right from the start I’ve felt that a very local restaurant in somewhere like Balham, with good prices, contemporary cooking and an easy atmosphere was just what everyone living in London wanted. In April 2013, the Sustainable Restaurant Association audited our business and awarded Harrison's and our sister restaurant, Sam's Brasserie, the top Three Star Sustainability Champion award.
We are overjoyed that the work we do in the community, as well as our strong ethos on sourcing, were particularly commended and are absolutely thrilled to receive such high accolade.

Downstairs at Harrison’s is a candlelit cocktail bar with intimate booth seating and a specially designed bar. The design is heavily influenced by Sam’s favourite New York bars and evokes a luxurious feel of times gone by. The bespoke furniture compliments the dark wood with its brass-edged stools, tables and soft black leather seats. There is full table service or sitting at the bar with a no-standing policy.

Our Private Dining Room is an ideal space for up to 14 people seated and 25 people standing so is perfect for drinks parties, birthday celebrations, events and much more. Our Private Dining Room can be booked at any time 7 days-a-week and has a minimum spend of :
£400 for lunch or daytime bookings
£500 for dinner or evening bookings
(The minimum spend can be made up on food, drink and also a discretional 12.5% service charge)
The menu changes on a daily basis depending on seasonality and availability of ingredients so always features an interesting choice of dishes for you to choose from and the wine list offers an extensive choice of wines which can be pre-ordered in advance.

My passion for the restaurant industry started at the age of 16 when I started waitering for friends catering firms. After I finished school I decided to further my interest in hospitality and completed a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management at Oxford Brookes University.
After working at Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant in Cornwall for four years, I moved to Australia and worked with some internationally renowned chefs as well as work on some fantastic new openings. I then returned to London and with the help of Rick and my fellow directors I opened Sam's, Harrison's sister restaurant, in 2005. My staff are an integral part of the business, without them my restaurants wouldn’t be what they are today.
Having worked for me as Assistant Manager at Harrison's sister restaurant, Sam's Brasserie, Beata is our latest exciting addition to the team. Beata has previously worked in one of my favourite restaurants in London, E&0 in Notting Hill. As soon as I met Beata I knew she was just the sort of person I want working with us at Harrison's - a truly natural front of house person who will strive every day to help make our guest experience the best possible. That's why I knew she was just the person to lead the team at Harrison's.
Mat is the latest member of the team at Harrison's and I am very excited he has joined us. As I soon as I met Mat I knew he shared the same passion as we do for always putting the customer first and striving every day to deliver the best possible customer service.
Having done such an amazing job at my other restaurant, Sam's, Mark has now also taken over the reins of Harrison’s kitchen. Mark started as a chef aged 17 working with Marcus Waring at Petrus and then went on to work at Hartwell House, Salt Yard and then Jamie Oliver's Fifteen for 5 years. With such a wealth of experience, I’m certain there are exciting times ahead at Harrison’s!
Tarik is one of the most impressive chefs I have ever had the pleasure to work with. It is the nature of Harrison's walk in trade that we can get slammed with customers very quickly but nothing fazes Tarik and he keeps the team focused on the job in hand.... making customers happy with great food.
Patryk has been a key member of the team since the first day he joined us. He has a very natural flair in the kitchen and is very passionate about the food he serves.
